The house
Es Cubells is the quiet corner of the south-west: a cliff village, a small white church, a road that leads to almost nothing. Ten minutes above Cala d’Hort, forty from the airport, and a world away from the north of the island in August.
The house is built into the slope over three levels, in lime plaster, travertine and pale oak. Everything opens. By six in the evening the whole west side is gold, and nobody leaves the terrace until it is dark.

An infinity pool along the full width of the house, a shaded bar under the pergola, and enough loungers that nobody has to claim one at nine in the morning.
Breakfast is served here. So is lunch, and most dinners, and the hour in between when nothing at all is planned.
